Entering a Vehicle Description with a Valid VIN

To record information about the general description of the vehicle, select the Vehicle tab. The Description view is displayed by default. Enter a valid VIN in the VIN field, and either Select Decode VIN from the toolbar, or press Enter.

If the decode is successful, the program will produce an exact match with a CCC Standard Vehicle Selection and will fill in the remaining fields. If the VIN does not decode the exact model or the exact engine, you will get a Vehicle Selection dialog box. Select the appropriate vehicle, and continue entering the information in the remaining fields.

To enter a vehicle description with a valid VIN

1. Open or create the workfile.
2. Select the Vehicle tab, and then select the Description tab.
3. Enter the complete VIN in the VIN field.
4. Select the Decode button if the program does not decode the VIN automatically .
5. Select the correct vehicle from the dialog box.
6. Enter the description information in the other fields.
